Clay and shoes, an interesting call for entry

sole•purposeTWO is looking for works that are created using a minimum of 50% clay combined with a maximum of creative inspiration from the concept of footwear!

The exhibition is being curated by evb•studio & Sellars Project Space, accepted works will be exhibited in the beautiful 1000 sq ft Sellars Project Space, located at 4383 Tennyson St. Denver CO. All accepted artists will be included in a catalog of the exhibition and maintain web presence for one[1] year. AWARDS: 4 JUROR PICK AWARDS and PURCHASE AWARD COMMUNITY.

sole•purposeTWO commits to dedicating a portion of its’ proceeds to TOMS Shoes; for every pair of TOMS shoes purchased TOMs gives a pair to a child in need.

MEDIA: ANY clay, at least 50% clay — traditional fired clays, polymer clay, epoxy clay, air dry clays, precious metal clay — so long as it is hardened (no unfired or oil clays, clay must be fired or dried to a hardened state)

Mix it up with some ‘mixed media’ elements — or not. Make it 2-D or 3-D. Realistic interpretations, Fantasy, Stylized, Abstract, have fun with it! Keep it under 20” in any direction

BECA gallery is currently accepting submissions for review of original works of art and design which retail below $500. If you are submitting images of 3D works, please submit 1 alternative view of each 3D work. If you would like to submit your 2D or 3D works of art and design for review and possible inclusion on www.becagallery.com within the categories ‘Ceramic Works’, ‘Mixed-Media’, ‘Sculpture’, ‘Drawings’, ‘Fiber Art/Textiles’, ‘Archival Prints’, ‘Paintings’, ‘Design/Functional Art’ or ‘Photography’, please email your website link or 5 -10 jpg images sized approximately 8×8 inches at 72dpi to [email protected] with the subject line: ‘artist submission’. Call for entry – Proverbial Porcelain 2009

2009 AWARD

The theme of the sixth Zelli Award for porcelain sculpture, to take place in October 2009, is ‘Proverbs’. Artists are invited to choose from eight proverbs, each one from a different country, for their work. The short-listed entries will be judged by a panel of three experts, and the winner will receive a prize of £3000. There will be an additional prize of £500 for the sculpture showing the best use of colour. The short-listed sculptures will be exhibited in Zelli’s West End gallery for two weeks during the period of the Award.

Muddy’s Wood Fire Classic

The Myers Gallery at Muddy’s Studio will end our season with Muddy’s Wood Fire Classic. T Robert and John Pacini are two experts in the art of wood firing and have gladly accepted the role of jurors. As artistic partners, both have lead dozens of workshops in this ancient firing technique.Muddy’s Wood Fir Classic Criteria:

The 28th Annual Smithsonian Craft Show 2010

The annual Smithsonian Craft Show is a juried exhibition and sale of contemporary American crafts. Three jurors who are experts in the field and newly selected each year choose 120 artists from a large pool of applicants. Craft artists are selected on the basis of the originality, artistic conception, and quality of their work. The show is produced by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee to benefit the Smithsonian Institution’s education, outreach, and research programs.

ELIGIBILITY:
All work submitted to the Smithsonian Craft Show must be created and made in the United States. 2009 Craft Show booth fees ranged from $1250 to $1950, depending on size and location. 2010 Craft Show booth fees may be higher.

Each applicant must submit an application, a non-refundable fee, and five (5) images for consideration by the jury. The images must be fully representative of the work you will sell at the Craft Show. Craft artists who work together may apply as one if they collaborate on every piece of work.
